Pick up from your accommodation (Hotel or Riad) in Marrakech and departure to the High Atlas Mountains crossing the highest pass of Tizi N’ Tichka (2260 meters of altitude), there we will make a stop to visit the oil cooperative of ARGAN, discovering the process of its realization and noting explanations of the countless benefits it has for the human body. We will continue our journey to the south by turning off on a 6 km track that will lead us to the famous kasabah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This impressive kasabah has been the setting for films such as Gladiator, the Jewel of the Nile, Babel, etc. Before continuing the journey to the film capital Ouarzazte, we will have our lunch. Then we will go to the Valley of the Roses passing by the large palm grove of Skoura until we reach the fabulous Dades Gorges.
After breakfast we will travel to Merzouga. On the way, we will stop in a strategic place and climb a mountain to observe the gorges from above. Then, we will continue our route by a road full of Kasbahas totally different from each other. During the trip we will make several stops, until we reach one of the most touristy places in the South: The magnificent Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has formed a gorge with vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty; it is a paradise for lovers of esala. We will take our lunch in the Gorges and then we will go to the fabulous dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga, where we will make a break to rest and drink a glass of tea of hospitality. Once we arrive at the hostel we will leave our bags there and go in a camel caravan, which will take us to the Haimas camp in a one hour ride. On the way we will make another stop in a strategic landscape that will allow us to appreciate a magnificent sunset among the dunes and relax a little before continuing the journey to the camp. In the evening and before dinner we can go up to the dunes next to the camp and have a glass of mint tea there while enjoying the peace and quiet of the desert. We will spend the night in a Haima, under a blanket of stars. (Fascinating night)
We will wake up early and if the clouds allow us we can contemplate a beautiful sunrise on the Great Dune. After enjoying this magnificent landscape, we will return to the hostel on camels. There we will take a shower, have breakfast and start our journey towards Marrakech, crossing the capital of the Alaouit Rissani dynasty, and passing, along the way, through beautiful pre-desert landscapes until we reach the famous Draa Valley, where it is impossible for us not to make a stop because this place is unique; a beautiful valley that runs alongside the river that bears the same name as Draa, which is the longest and largest river in Morocco and crosses the entire country to Mauritania. We will then cross the Anti-Atlas mountains to reach the film capital Ouarzazate, where we will have a delicious lunch. In the afternoon we will continue the journey through the High Atlas to the red city of Marrakech.
