7 Days From Marrakech To Merzouga Desert

Day 1- MARRAKECH

Pick up at Marrakech airport. Transfer to the Riad. Visit of the city and its famous square DJeema el Fna.

Day 2- MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – DADES GORGE

In the morning, we leave for the High Atlas, cross the T’ichka pass (2,260m), and see the Kasbah of AIT BEN HADDOU, where the famous films of Asterix & Obelix and Gladiator, among others, were shot. Lunch and rest. Then we will follow quietly the path to the Valley of the palm grove of SKOURA, and the Valley of ROSES, finally reaching the Valley of DADES.

Day 3- DADES GORGE – TODRA GORGE – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA

In the morning we will cross the DADES Valley, making stops in panoramic views to take pictures, then we will pass by the famous TODRA GORGES. We will have a quiet tea and follow the road to ERFOUD. Here we will take a detour by track to the dunes of ERG CHEBBI (Merzouga). Excursion in dromedaries to contemplate the wonderful dunes of Erg Chebbi during the sunset. We will arrive at the Berber camp and enjoy a dinner to the rhythm of drums. We will live an unforgettable night in the middle of the desert.

Day 4- MERZOUGA – ERRACHIDIA – MEDALT – FES

After breakfast departure to Fes, via Rissani, the former economic capital of Morocco. Continue to the Ziz Valley, passing through Tafilalet and enjoying its panoramic views of Palm Groves and Gorges. We will arrive in Azrou, contemplating the wonderful landscapes of the Middle Atlas and the Cedar Forest, with a mandatory stop to see the monkeys living in freedom. Then we will pass through Ifrane, the so called “Moroccan Switzerland” and in the afternoon we will arrive in Fès .

Day 5- FES

In the morning, at the appointed time, departure for the guided tour of Fès, the cultural and religious capital, the oldest of the country’s Imperial Cities, approaching the Royal Palace and visiting the Jewish quarter, the impressive Medina, with its typical shops and craftsmen’s quarters, the exterior of the Mosque, the Koranic School, Al Bouanania, and the El Quaraouiyne University. Lunch in a typical restaurant of the Medina and free afternoon.

Day 6- FES – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – RABAT

Breakfast. Departure to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, continuation to Meknès, visit of the city, linked to the name of Moulay Ismail, the great sultan of the Alouite dynasty. Visit of the walled Medina of the city, the Bab Mansour gate and the Hedim square. Lunch and departure to Rabat, administrative capital of the country.

Day 7- RABAT – CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH

After breakfast, panoramic visit of the exterior of the Royal Palace and its gardens. Departure to Casablanca. Lunch and panoramic visit of the economic capital of the country, visiting the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque and a small tour to know the most emblematic points of the city, like the Boulevard de la Corniche, the Park of Nations and the Mohamed V square. We will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon.
